Since October 7th, People for Israel has assisted more than 5,000 people in need and men & women in uniform through the donation of more than 300 mattresses 🛏️,2,800 coats 🧥, over 12,000 meals 🍔, 2,900 pairs of underwear 🩲, over 4.500 pairs of socks 🧦, deodorants, toiletries 🧴, 1,200 rain jackets, a dozen cases of medicines and first aid kits 💊, 300 tourniquets, two washing machines, 600 pairs of gloves, 250 cases of water, 8,000 challahs (bread). People for Israel has also provided transportation to more than 160 individuals and families across the nation.

On October 7, 2023 the Hamas terrorist organization invaded Israel killing more than 1,400 people, placing thousands in the hospital, physically injuring more than 5,200, taking more than 350 as hostages, including approximately 200 that are still being held against their will in Gaza.

Beginning around 6:30 AM on October 7th – and in the week that followed – Hamas fired over 6,000 rockets and missiles at Israel focused on the civilian populations all over the country. Amongst those still being held hostage are infants only several months old and senior citizens in their late 70’s. Amongst those killed were more than 260 made up primarily of teenagers that had come to a music festival celebrating peace and love. Exits to the concert were blocked to maximize the casualties while over 25 points were breached at the border between Israel and Gaza. More than two dozen different towns and villages in the south of Israel were attacked as well as two military bases and a police station. As children were butchered and left for dead. Destruction and terrorism are not the end of this story. We are strong, and we shall rebuild.

Who We Are

People for Israel is not a political nor a religious organization. We are a group of volunteers – around the world – focused on rebuilding the communities Hamas destroyed, helping families that have lost loved ones or suffered as a result of this war, providing security measures to prevent against future attacks and supporting those that are protecting the families and citizens of Israel. We do not support the killing of children or civilians on either side of this battle, but we recognize that Hamas started this battle and we stand with Israel. We are from a variety of religions and nationalities and like so many of you, we want to see a peaceful resolution to this endless war. We are mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, we are grandparents. We are children, we are seniors, we are together. We are not an organization that assists with tactical gear and we have no paid staff.

Some of the Things We Will Do:

At People for Israel, our organization is focused on the current situation. However, we intend to continue to do our part to help those most vulnerable when the war comes to an end. As our mission and purpose evolve, we will keep you updated. Our plan will be to shift towards assistance with the rebuilding effort when the time is appropriate.

Policy

As a matter of policy, we do not show graphic images on our website or in our emails. There is a concept in Judaism of “dignity” for the deceased and as such, we see no benefit in sharing images of the terror that Hamas has inflicted. In addition, we do not share photos of the families and individuals we serve. Many choose to stay anonymous for a variety of reasons. Given what has occurred in Israel since October 7th, our policy is to provide assistance wherever we can, to any party that asks, so long as they are based in Israel.

Ten Ways to Help

Please donate

We have spent far more than we have taken in. You can donate in the USA via Zelle: 8453818180. This is not tax-deductible. 100% of the funds go to those in need.

Please donate

You can donate via credit card and this is tax deductible through our fiscal sponsor, Zichron Tzvi Elimelech, a registered 501c3 charity. 95% of the funds go to those in need.

Pray

We believe in the power of prayer, Psalms and however we can get help from the One Above. Psalms – Chapter 20 and Psalms – Chapter 83 is particularly poignant at times like these.

Talk to us

Book a time for me or one of our volunteers to speak to your church or synagogue or civic group over ZOOM about our experience. Why is this important? We feel compelled to share the real story with the world. We want people to know what is happening here so this event does not repeat itself. Awareness is a good thing.

Book a flight here.

We know this may sound crazy but please understand airlines have shut us down. We cannot get in or out now. Delta, United and American have all suspended flights. El Al, Israel's national airline may be an option, but you’ll need to check with them. If people book flights, they will see there is still a demand.

Send cards and pictures

Send cards and pictures of support. We’ll distribute them to families and soldiers and let them know they are not alone.

Bring supplies

If you can find a way to Israel, bring a duffle bag of shirts, underwear, coffee. Believe me, it will get used.

Spread the word

Write your local politician and let them know Israel has a right to defend itself. Let’s not underestimate the power of the USA. If the USA asks Israel to “go easy on the response,” that is what will happen. Let them know we cannot go easy when children are being slaughtered.

Help rebuilding efforts

Several of the villages down south are thinking about what happens after the war with respect to all of the destroyed homes and schools. Places like Kibbutz Alumim – which has been around for 57 years and employed many foreign agricultural workers – are seeking assistance in these efforts.

Amazon can help

Send a package to People for Israel: Please keep the order under $75.00 so as to avoid duty and VAT but items such as underwear, socks, towels, thermal underwear and toiletries are in short supply. We will make sure they are given out to those in need.
